A page from Stone Creek Silk

Welcome to the Stone Creek Silk Web Site

I have a lot of new pages planned ranging from more on my favourite techniques such as using digital images in your textile work, producing cyanotypes (blueprints) and screen printing to online Photoshop Elements tutorials and information on what and where I'm teaching. You'll also find a new blog where I'll be documenting my own experiments and thoughts as well as a very long list of good books - this won't be a surprise to anyone who knows me!

Stone Creek Barn

At the centre of all this is Stone Creek Barn where I work and teach in the lovely East Riding of Yorkshire. Come and create your own unique fabrics using a wide variety of techniques. The groups here are always small, 4-6 students at a time, so you can enjoy working with like-minded people, or on your own, and have plenty of space to work - time for you.

I also travel widely giving talks, teaching for Groups, Guilds and Colleges. I really enjoy meeting the friendly, welcoming people round the country and always get inspiration from my students.

There are various ways to keep up to date with what I'm doing - I send out an email newsletter once a month, I tweet (a new venture for me) as @stonecreeksilk, I have a Facebook page and, of course, there's the blog. The way I use these is that the newsletter has items on new products I've come across, new experiments, pointers to new entries in the blog, information on what and where I'm teaching as well as the 'book of the month'. The blog has a more in-depth write up of my work. I use Twitter and Facebook for headlines so it's there that I announce new courses and other news. You can join the mailing list by following the link on the left. If you decide that it's not for you then it's very easy to unsubscribe and you won't receive any more.
